Therapy and love: how to handle our own feelings and passion?

Falling in love is a wonderful thing and it can bring a lot of joy, but when it happens in the therapy room…… we will feel a lot less comfortable with it. It creates a lot of turbulence.
How can we handle those feelings of tenderness, love and passion in a situation with a client? Should we refer the client? Should we immediately go for supervision and 'cure' ourselves?
Or can we work with it?
For sure, awareness and humor can help us to handle the situation. It can help us to look at what is happening with a smile and perceive it as important information about what is happening in the field.
During this workshop I will invite the participants to share and explore their own experiences, fears, taboos, values and norms and explore, how we can handle our own feelings.

I am working as a Gestalt trainer, therapist, coach, supervisor and consultant for more than 35 years.
I was a staff member of the former MultidiMens Gestalt Institute in Belgium that was one of the founders of the IVGT Gestalt institute in Prague, and I was involved as a staff member to help building up gestalt institutes, like in Bulgaria, Georgia and also in Nepal and Armenia. Next to that I am a guest trainer in many other Gestalt institutes in Europe.
As a therapist and counsellor, I was seeing clients in my private practice, and I have worked for about 25 years in a counselling center for clients with cancer.
Working in other countries and other cultures has always been a passion. It enriches me and deepens my understanding of my own culture, assumptions and what I take for granted.
I am a registered member of the EAGT as therapist, GPO and supervisor and as an European Certified Psychotherapist of the EAP.
